Focus Week is a module aimed to help us meet our Persomal Development Plan over the course of the year.

My first aim was to improve my sketching and drawing skills.  I chose this to help me when I’m on site visits, it would give me another media to use when doing the design of the site in addition to the many photographs taken.

Over the course of the year the hand drawing evolved into being able to draw on the computer for example, drawing sections.

Another aim was to go to exhibitions.  These ranged from architectural exhibitions to art exhibitions.  Going to these also helped with meeting other aims for example, the Da Vinci exhibition linked in with the drawing aim.

Throughout the year it was becoming clearer to me that nature reserves and parks is something that I would like to work on in my year out.  It therefore became important to visit some nature reserves to see examples which also helped me in my project work.

For me it was also important to see contemporary design.  Malmo in particular was a good place to visit to see high quality design, materials and construction.  Within London I visited a few squares.
